P.U.S.H

Salvationists in the Australian Eastern Territory now have access to an online network service called PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens), which includes weekly email newsletter and a new website, PUSH Online.

Push is the brainchild of Rebecca Barnes (Inner City West), who decided to begin the network in 2003 after a moving experience at The Salvation Army's Music Camp. Since then Rebecca has taken Philip Sutcliffe (Capricorn Region Corps) on board as web designer and website coordinator. The Central & North Queensland Youth councils 2004 saw the addition of Ray Elliott (Thuringowa Corps) as assistant website coordinator.

Now they can also join an online chat forum to submit prayer requests or discuss different aspects of Christianity. The aim is to connect Salvationists in the diverse Australian Eastern Territory, and to strengthen their faith and walk with God.

Armybarmy Blog Celebrates Three Years

Our Third Birthday

Armybarmy Blog is celebrating our third birthday this month. We used to be known as Captains' Blog (still are on a few blog rolls). In the interim we've added Elaine Gillingham, Heather Dolby, and Aaron White to our blog, and have been riding the armybarmy primitive salvo wave (such that the host site is now getting about 30 times the traffic we had two years ago). Praise God.

In The Blood

Many communities around the world are affected by HIV/Aids; but it can sometimes be difficult to imagine what it is like to live with the disease. Over the next seven months author Rhidian Brook, with his wife and two young children, will be travelling the world to live with those communities.

Rhidian's family will be hosted by the Salvation Army, a Christian church with a history of social action among the poor. Rhidian's role is not to be a journalist nor a spokesman for the Salvation Army.

His role is simply to bring the stories of the people he meets to the outside world.
