June 14th, 2007 - Join the largest Salvation Army group on the Internet
SALVATIONARMY3 was born in August 2004 because it was felt that there was a need for a place on the Internet where Salvationists and Christian Friends could come together and talk about things concerning The Salvation Army, their Faith, and all that is involved within it.
We are now the largest and most active Salvation Army Group on the Internet.
We wanted a place where we could discuss how we can be better people in this world because of …
• Our belief and trust in God the Father.
• Our love for Jesus and all that He means to us day by day.
• Our experience of The Holy Spirit in our everyday lives. As the founder of SALVATIONARMY3 wrote when we first came into being …“It is my Prayer that this group stays a Holy place, where JESUS is the Focus of every Conversation, and “OTHERS” is the reason we meet.
I Love JESUS and THE SALVATION ARMY and want a great place to meet others who feel the same”…If you feel you would like to be a member of a vibrant and active Salvation Army group, please come in and join us. A Welcome awaits you.
January 25th, 2007 - The General of the Salvation Army has a Website
If he was blogging, that would be something to get excited about.
The General directs Salvation Army operations throughout the world through the administrative departments of International Headquarters, which are headed by International Secretaries.
As well as developing international policy and giving overall direction, the General also ensures the internationalism of The Salvation Army. He travels widely in countries where The Salvation Army is active, and is an inspirational speaker.

July 27th, 2006 - The Salvation Army in Poland Granted Official Registration as a Church
THE Salvation Army has been officially registered as a church in Poland. It was added to the country’s register of churches on 21 June and official confirmation of this step was given by the authorities on 12 July. The recognition followed a long and often difficult process which threatened The Salvation Army’s future work in Poland.
Colonel Vibeke Krommenhoek (Project Warsaw Team Leader) writes: ‘We knew last year that this would not be an easy task, because of all the strict legal requirements, but we believed this was what we needed to do – to register as a church and not as anything else. The reason for this, as we see it, is that we are fundamentally a church with a social profile, and not a humanitarian organisation with church activities. Secondly, we believed the registration was a priority in order to be effective in our mission and an equal partner with other churches in Poland.
‘Many people both inside and outside The Salvation Army have worked and prayed hard to accomplish this result. It has been amazing and wonderful to discover several important people both in the realms of politics, such as President Chirac of France, and religion, such as a number of Roman Catholic bishops (both in and out of Poland), who have been willing, on our request, to question the Polish authorities on their refusal to register us the first time.
‘[We] have more than one million soldiers we can call on to pray. Whether they all prayed for our legal challenges in Poland to be solved, I will never know. But some did and this was sufficient, which calls for one more hallelujah! … We surely give God the glory for accomplishments that serve and extend his Kingdom, but Scripture assures us that the dedication of the believers and their faithfulness to Christ’s mission matter too.’

June 15th, 2006 - International Salvation Army headquarters building nominated for design award
The Salvation Army’s International Headquarters, at 101 Newington Causeway in London, has been nominated for a New London Architecture New Building Award.
The building is designed to express the true nature of The Salvation Army more publicly and more transparently than its predecessor. The building is clad in glass, opening up much of the space to public view and giving those inside a sense of being part of the community outside. The transparency of the building - a beacon set on a hill that cannot be hidden - fulfills an evangelical purpose, too.
HRH The Princess Royal, on opening the building in November 2004, commented that the offices were a ‘working building’ but also a ‘worship building’.
The Biennale Awards 2006 winners will be announced by sponsors Nick McKeogh, Director, Pipers and Philippa Stockley, Deputy Editor, Evening Standard Homes & Property at 4pm on Saturday 17 June 2006 at St Bartholomew’s Fair, a main event of the first weekend of the London Architecture Biennale.
